The Gospel of Peace Series
The Waters of Noah
Tape III
1
We’re speaking on the subject of the gospel of peace; the gospel of peace. As we’ve shared
with you in the previous sessions, there are only two things called the Gospel in the New
Testament. One is called the Gospel of Peace. The other is called the Gospel of the Grace
of God. Now in the process of teachings, we usually get a lot of teaching on a lot of things and
today while we were having lunch, it was amazing because we realized some of the things that
all groups and denominations are taught, but not the Gospel of Peace and not the Gospel of the
Grace of God. We can get teachings on prosperity. We can get teachings on laws, rules,
regulations, feast days, ceremonies, baptism, communion; we can get taught about a million
things, and for some reason feel like that it’s very important that we get “the how to do” part of
those things that have been taught. In the process of it we never really hear what Paul called the
Gospel; the Gospel of the Grace of God, or the Gospel of Peace.
As I’ve shared with you also, the Gospel of Peace is what put me on this road. No one had
taught me the Gospel of Peace. The Gospel of Peace is where I began to look and read back in
the 80’s. I began to see though that there was something that I had never been taught before and
certainly something I had never been taught and that is that God is not angry any more.
I was taught about a God who would do everything for you but the thing is, he would do
everything for you if you did everything right. He was equally angry with you if you did
anything wrong. And this is where the drastic revolution for me began to take place is to realize
that entire religious perspective is what Jesus nailed on the cross; that God doesn’t go around
doing good for you because you have kept laws and neither does he punish you because you’ve
broken laws.
Romans 10:20 “This is a new and living way” said Paul. Now you can already tell from the
opening statements that we’ve made so far that this is a radical depart as what we know as
modern day Christianity because it is based on these things. It is based on…if you perform well
enough God will bless you and help you and if you disobey in certain things, God will punish
you.
You say, “Well Mike! We have verses to back up all of this.” That is true. I had verses to back
all of it up as I taught on it for several years but I was leaving out the cross.
Have you ever noticed how someone teaches you exactly what to do and if you do it right, God
will bless you. Jesus gets left out. And if somebody teaches you if you do this, God’s going to
punish you; God’s going to punish San Francisco; God’s going to punish these people; he’s
going to destroy that. Somehow you can teach on all that all day long and never bring up Jesus.
But you see, Jesus is the one who stepped in at the focal point of the culmination of the old
covenant. The old covenant was established, not to make men righteous so they could be
blessed nor so that they could be cursed; it was given to bring them to a revelation that their
condition would never ever, through their obedience bring them favor with God.
Man was the one that partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It was not God.
And when man partook of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, it was not God who

changed his opinion of man; it was man who changed his opinion of God. It was not God who
turned his face away from man. It was man who turned his face away from God. It was not
God who ran away and didn’t want anything to do with man; it was man who ran away and
didn’t want anything to do with God.
Now my perception, all along, was that when this happened in the garden, God just swirled
around on this big swivel chair and said, “I don’t want anything to do with you anymore.”
However, if you read the account in the book of Genesis, that just simply does not bear out. At
every point where that there was an opportunity to fellowship or talk or converse with God, it
was man who didn’t show up for the appointment. It was man who went and hid and it was man
who had a wrong perception as to why he felt this way. Out of this wrong perception as to why
he felt alienated from God, religion developed.
Remember of course in the book of Genesis, he asked Adam, “Why are you hiding from me?
Why are you running from me?” Remember what Genesis tells us Adam’s response was?
Adam said it was because he was naked. Well there’s a little problem with that response. You
see, Adam was naked the day before when God came and talked with him and the day before
that. And suddenly in Adam’s mind, there was a problem. But do you see that the problem
wasn’t the problem. Adam’s problem was unbelief; it was not nakedness. And ever since that
day, man has tried to cover his own feeling of nakedness before God and that’s really what the
culmination of religion is; man’s attempt to feel that he is covered and clothed before God so he
can be accepted before God. And the wonderful thing about the blood of Jesus is that we’ve
been covered and clothed with his righteousness.
Now if you have a problem that’s not the problem, you’re going to come up with a solution that
doesn’t solve anything. Now! Man’s perception was that he was naked and therefore that was
the problem. The actual problem was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and out of that
of course, he developed a perception that it must be because I am naked. We know that was not
the problem. God handled their nakedness just fine before they ever partook of this. But their
minds were defiled. Their minds began to think this is wrong, and this is right. This is wrong
and this is right. And this incredible mechanism was set loose in the heart and mind of man as
what he had to do and not do to be right with God. To help man come to the end of the false
belief system, God gave the law. Let me state that once again. To help man come to the end of
a false belief system that he had to do good things to be right with God and when he did bad
things, he was not right with God, God applied his law which no man could attain.
Galatians 3: 21
And Paul reveals to us that that law was given not to bring righteousness because if
righteousness could have come by the law, then surely a law would have been given that would
have produced life in us. But there is no such thing as a law that brings life. Why do we depend
upon them so much when we know beyond a shadow of a doubt, they bring no life and they
have no righteousness in them. They (the laws) are not what walks hand in hand with Christ to
produce a good Christian life. They are not co-partners. The law of Moses is not a co-partner
with the sacrifice of Jesus to produce a healthy lifestyle. The law is against the grace of God.
Now, it doesn’t make the law unholy but we’ve got to realize why it was holy. It doesn’t make
the law imperfect. The law was perfect but we have to accept its perfection in the

sense God gave it; not in the reason man used it. He used it to feel good about himself and to
condemn others; not to get this human race straightened out. God gave the law to show
man your whole way of trying to get this straightened out is wrong. Your way is completely
messed up. I will apply my laws to your ways and let’s see if you can do it. You think that
through the knowledge of good and evil, you’re going to resolve this problem. Since you’ve
chosen that way, I will give you my laws. I will apply the laws so that you can come to the
harsh conclusion Romans 3:10 “There is none righteous; no not one.” The law was given to
bring us to Christ. It wasn’t given to straighten your life out.
People say, “Well the problem I have with Mike Williams’ teaching is that he doesn’t respect
God’s law.” Well, I beg to differ with that highly. I probably respect it more than those who try
and keep it for purposes of righteousness. I respect it for the reason God gave it.
If you respect God’s law because you think keeping it helps you gain favor with God and you
judge someone as not right with God because you see them breaking the law, you’re a Pharisee;
not a good Christian. That’s a Pharisee. That’s what I’ve determined Christianity has become;
Phariseeism. But I tell you what folks, there’s a mighty deliverance for this incredible thing
called the gospel of Jesus Christ that we can really be free. In fact, you’re already free. No
minister can set you free. I didn’t come here to set you free. I came here to tell you about the
freedom in which you’ve been placed in. No one can do more for you than what Jesus has done.
I can maybe help you be aware of what Jesus has done but I cannot invoke what Jesus did. I
can’t get Jesus to do it for you now that you understand and follow my teaching that he’ll
actually do it for you. Jesus did it for you whether you know it or not.
The Gospel is just a revelation of what has already happened. The same as the law was a
revelation of what has already happened. The law was a revelation of a condition that existed
before the law ever came.
How many of you knew that sin was in the world before the law ever came? Was the law given
to straighten out the situation? No! The law was given so that sin might become exceedingly
sinful. It was given so that man could get a revelation. Man thought that doing good would
make him right with God. The law was given so severely that man could come to the
conclusion, “I’m hopeless. I have no possibility of ever making it in this life.”
So do you see the fallacy of coming in to Christ and then we as ministers putting you back under
the law. Why is it that you gain such joy when you first come to Christ and then we teach you
what a good Christian does and doesn’t do and then you lose your joy. The law is only
revealing what is wrong with you. The law can never reveal what’s right with you. There’s not
a happy day in the life of a person who is constantly having revealed what’s wrong with them.
Now I know nobody lives with somebody like that but it’s a painful thing to have your faults
pointed out all the time. Does it make you a better person to have your faults pointed out all the
time? No! It makes you want to do that much better; whatever it is that you’re displeasing
somebody with. You’ll try for awhile but when you realize there’s no pleasing this person;
you’ll become a devious person who sneaks around just to see how miserable you can make
them. It’s like you can’t please them anyway. Why should I try? I get beat up. I get abused

every time they find out I’ve done something so I’ll just do it to where they don’t know what
I’m doing. Folks! That’s common life for many people; many Christians in their every day life.
But there’s a Gospel that has such great freedom within it; it’s absolutely incredible. I do love
God’s law but I love it for the reason God gave it not the reason the Pharisees loved it. The
Pharisees loved it because it made them look good; it gave them the ability to judge other
people. I love it because it condemned the entire world and showed us that we all all needed a
Savior. And if you have respect for God’s law in that aspect, you will have the highest respect
and regard for God’s law because you will have God’s perspective of why he gave the law.
Folks, if the law could straighten everything out, then why did Jesus come?
Galatians 2 21 If the law could make a man righteous….Paul said in the book of Galatians, “If
the law could have brought righteousness, then Christ died in vain.” If the law adds anything
to my life, Paul said that Jesus died completely in vain; it was totally for nothing. If serving the
law gains me favor with God, Christ has died in vain; completely in vain.
You see, this choice of belief in Christ is not a choice of Jesus over the Devil. That’s what
we’re posed with. Jesus defeated the devil. This is not a choice between Jesus and the Devil.
This is a choice between Jesus and Moses. That’s the choice. Remember what happened on the
mount of transfiguration? Two of the disciples went up there and saw Jesus transfigured in their
very presence. Moses, the giver of the law, and Elijah, the giver of prophecy, stood before them
in the same image as Jesus. Remember what the disciples wanted to do? “Oh! Let us build
tabernacles for each of them.” Remember what Moses and Elijah said? They both said, no.
This is God’s son. Hear ye him!” They knew the choice was between them and Jesus.
And what we have done now is become Christians and choose to live by some futuristic event of
prophecy which was all about Jesus in the first place and by some set of laws and rules given by
Moses. When they both said, “This is God’s son. We defer completely to him.” Something
wonderful happened; something more than wonderful happened; it’s called the gospel of peace.
In Isaiah 54:7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather
thee.
Isaiah 54:8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting
kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.
Now here we have a statement that Isaiah is prophesying. He’s prophesying about the coming
of the Savior. He’s prophesying about the new covenant. He’s prophesying about what is about
to happen in this incredible change between the old covenant and the new covenant. One of the
statements that we have here is….for a small moment I have forsaken thee. Can any of you
think of something in the New Testament as to where that something to do with Jesus is
fulfilled? It was at the cross, wasn’t it? Jesus spoke this very statement, didn’t he? And what
did he say? “My God! My God! Why hast thou forsaken me?” And here we find the prophesy
about that.
The Gospel of Peace Series

For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. Did God
gather Jesus back up with great mercy after Jesus died on the cross?
Did he raise him from the dead? Did he raise him up and seat him at his right hand and gave
him a name that was above every name? Absolutely! Why did God turn his face from his son?
It tells us here why.
In a little wrath I hid my face from thee….now the teachings that we’ve gone through so far,
the chapters that we’ve covered last night and today, we know that it very plainly indicates to us
that Jesus hung on that cross to bear the wrath of God for the punishment of sin for the whole
world. That’s why he was there. He said, “This is the reason I’ve come here is to bear this
judgment; this wrath; to bear the punishment of sin of the whole world.” And here we see this
recorded. He said….in a little wrath; God speaking through the prophet Isaiah, I hid my face
from thee for a moment but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the
Lord thy Redeemer.
Then an incredible statement through comparison, we can learn as much as we need to learn
about this particular incident at the cross. Now! He goes on to give a lot greater detail of what
happened, but comparative teaching and even in science; comparative science, when you
compare one thing to something else; how does this work? Do they relate to each other? Are
they opposites of each other? Finding two things and comparing them is where the greatest
amount of understanding can be found. It’s not in getting your doctrine off to the side and not
comparing it to anything. Paul’s teaching was so great in this realm. He was so good at
presenting the opposite side of the story; he would teach what he believed was wrong doctrine
and he taught it better than the people who believed it and taught it. Then, he would show why
that was not true.
Do you know that much of the Christian world turns to the part where Paul was teaching the
doctrines they believed. They say, “Well Paul said this. Paul said that. Paul said you should
have your heads covered. Paul said this. Paul said a woman’s hair is her glory. Paul said it’s a
shame for men to have long hair. Paul said this. Paul said that. Paul said women ought to be
quiet in church. Paul said this.” And whenever you look at it, if you just read on, Paul said in
all those situations said, “That’s not the way it is. We know that’s what you believe. That’s
what you think. But in Christ, there is no such thing as male or female.”
And yet in the church, we divide people. In the church we set people apart. In the church we do
all of these things.
Paul was growing in grace also, according to his teaching and according to the things that he did
in I Corinthians. He dealt with a man in the church. Remember how severely he dealt with
him? He said, “Throw him out. Don’t have anything to do with him. Don’t even eat with him.
Don’t even sit down and eat with this guy.” Do you know when Paul wrote his second letter to
the church at Corinth, he said, “Why are you being so mean to this man?” He said, “You should
treat him like a brother, not an outcast.” Now wait a minute Paul! The last letter you wrote told
us not to fellowship with him. You told us not to even go out and have dinner with him. Now
you’re rebuking us for doing that.” Well folks! Anybody can change their mind; even Paul;
especially when you’re growing in grace.
The Gospel of Peace Series
The Waters of Noah
Tape III

Boy, your mind can change real quick. One place where you used to be real harsh, judgmental
and condescending; all of a sudden, it’s like, BAM! I don’t judge those people any more. I
use to think that those people were the worst of the worse of the worst and now it’s like, I can
accept them. It’s not a big deal any more.
How many of you have had that experience in growing in grace? We’ve all had that wonderful
experience. Paul had it too I think. The church takes what he did and doesn’t follow through.
We don’t read through. We want to maintain the harshness of the first letter rather than follow
through to the second letter where Paul said, “Don’t do it that way.” But we fall in love with the
harsh part. It’s more fun to throw somebody out. It’s something that makes us feel better about
ourselves. “Well bless God, we’re not like that; bless God! We’re holy people. We’re going to
get rid of all these unholy people around here.” Well, just close the doors and don’t even let the
Pastor in because according to the law, there is none righteous; no not one. We only have one
hope, folks, and that’s acceptance through the blood of the lamb. You don’t have five hopes;
three hopes, two hopes. You have one hope and that is the blood of Jesus Christ.
Jesus’ blood was shed. Why is the blood so important? There are two things that are
synonymous in the old covenant and those are wrath and blood; wrath and blood; wrath and
blood. Blood was to be produced as a result of wrath and anger against sin and Jesus’ blood
was shed for the whole world! I used to wonder.. well, what does it have to do with blood, why
did it take blood, why the shed blood, is it just a doctrine, is it something that we do because it
says to do it. Oh no. It’s because of the implication because where blood was shed, that was an
implication of the wrath and anger of God. Wrath produced blood. Wrath produced blood.
When Jesus’ blood was produced through the wrath of God at the cross, what was his blood
shed for? Was it just for Christians? It was for the sin of the whole world; wrath and blood.
Then comes this awesome comparison. He says, “For this is as the waters of Noah unto me.”
Now listen at this closely. He has just told us what would happen at the cross. What did he say
would happen at the cross? “I will for a small moment turn my face from you. It’s because of
wrath. The reason I am turning my face is because I am punishing my own son for something
he has not done or is not guilty of.” But the Bible says, he took upon himself the sin of the
whole world and when he took upon himself the sin of the whole world, how much of the sin of
the world was punished then? All of the sin of the world was punished! It was all punished.
Christianity is still saturated with people still waiting for God to come and punish people. But
wait folks! If God comes and punishes somebody now for their sin, the Bible says the sin of the
whole world, past, present and future was put on the body of Jesus Christ. If you know
somebody that God is punishing for their sins, that is somebody’s sin that God left off the cross.
Because there is another default about the wrath and judgment of God; that sin cannot be
punished twice. Sin can’t be punished twice. And if it was punished in the body of Jesus, then
you tell me how in the world God can go to someone and punish them for the sin that he
punished in the body of his own son?
He says this thing that took place at the cross; look what he says.

Isaiah 54:9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of
Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee
nor rebuke thee.
V. 9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me. Now isn’t this a strange statement? The cross,
in God’s eyes, is just exactly like what? It’s exactly the same as the waters of Noah. Now what
were the waters of Noah? Was it a nice way to get everybody refreshed? The waters of Noah
were the judgment of God. And who was the judgment of God toward? It was toward the
whole world. And what did he just compare the cross to? He said, “I want you to see, that in
my eyes, is just exactly like the waters of Noah.” Wow. Do you know with that one
understanding, there is great insight into the cross of Jesus Christ? Paul said in the book of
Romans 5:15, “For if one died, then all are dead.” Wow! What an incredible statement. You
mean when Jesus died, in God’s eyes, the whole world was punished and the whole world died?
That’s what it says. Well wait! What about when Jesus rose from the dead? Folks! When one
died, all are dead and when Christ raised, we were all raised.
Hallelujah! I think this is good enough new to go around and tell everybody. I think it’s plenty
good enough news to go around and share.
Isaiah 54:9 …..for as I have sworn Now we already have an indication here that a promise
came out of the waters of Noah. Did God give a promise after the flood? That’s a very simple
thing. We all learned that in Sunday School Class 101. We learned in S.S. class about the
rainbow. Why is the rainbow there? It is a symbol. What does it say? It says that God will
never destroy the earth again with water. Right? God will never destroy the earth again with
water. Now, how many people benefited from that promise? The entire world benefited. What
about atheists? Did they benefit from that promise? What about Buddhists? Well there weren’t
any of them around at the time but…..the whole world benefited from that promise. How about
people that hated God? You see it had nothing to do with what the people believed. God made
the promise and the promise was not conditional upon man’s response or belief in it. It was a
promise God made based on his own ability to keep his own promise; not on man’s ability to get
the promise to work. (chuckle) God made a promise. I have punished the entire world through
this means; through water. And now I make a promise. I will never destroy the earth again;
you’ll never see my punishment come to this earth in this form ever again. He said this will
never happen this way again. It will never happen. And then he says, in comparison to the
cross, what did he say? “So have I sworn, that I will not be angry with you nor rebuke you”
saith God. So there was a promise that came out of the flood. And then there was a promise
that came out of the cross. We all know the flood promise; I’ll never destroy the earth again.
But do you know what? We know more about the promise that came out of the flood than we
know about the promise that came out of the cross. And the Christian community does not
believe the promise that came out of the cross. And what was the promise that came out of the
cross? I promise you. I will never be angry nor rebuke you ever again. Wow! I will never be
angry or rebuke you ever again.
Then he goes on to explain in detail that this coming of a Savior and the impact that it would
have on the entire earth.

Isaiah 54:10 He says, “For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed.” Does that
sound like some pretty catastrophic events may take place? How many of you have ever seen a
mountain depart or a hill just moved? I’ve been in mild earthquakes in Palm Springs in
southern California. I understand you guys have a few little shakers up here too. I’ve never
seen a mountain fall down. I’ve never seen a hill be completely removed.
He says, “Even though the mountains depart, and the hills removed, my kindness shall not
depart from thee; neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed. Folks, he said there’s
going to be catastrophic events but after the cross you can be guaranteed one thing; it is not my
anger. I am not rebuking you.
The hills can fall flat; the mountains be completely removed and every time there’s a
catastrophic event in the world, American Christianity is on TBN radio declaring this is the
wrath of God for the sins of the people. That is one of the greatest insults to the blood of Jesus
Christ and the cross to say that these catastrophic events are punishment for man’s sin because
it’s saying that Jesus was a liar and God didn’t keep his promise. I’m sorry! I won’t go along
with it. It may make religious people mad but I’d rather make you mad than insult the cross. I
don’t want to insult the cross. You say, “Would God be mad?” That’s the incredible thing
about it. God wouldn’t even be angry and that’s the reason I never want to insult the cross
because no matter what I do, even insulting the cross, God’s anger has been quenched 2,000
years ago.
Folks, I’ve gone through and been and done so many things that I deserved the punishment of
God but I didn’t get it. And you know what? I’m not going to. Oh you would have been dead a
long time before; if this wasn’t true, you’d been dead a long time ago. And the people that you
know that are dead, they’re not dead because they got God angry; they’re just dead. You see,
Christianity has become this obsessive need to make sense out of the chaotic world that we live
in. We want to understand why things happen; why people die. You know, before I left town,
two teenagers driving on the road several blocks from our house, went off the road. Two
teenage girls; sixteen years old, bam! Life over! Grieving parents, hearts broken, ripped and
torn; It’ll never be forgotten as long as those parents and that family lives on the face of this
earth. But you know, one of the things that’s going to prolong and agonize that death? They
live in a Christian community that has to resolve the reason for everything that happens so
they’ve got to figure out; these girls were either living in sin or their parents were; one of the
two. Something took the protection of God off their lives because if they would have been
doing just right, God could have protected them. Now folks! That tends toward mental illness;
not a strong belief; not a confidence in God whatsoever.
He says, “But my kindness shall not depart from thee and neither shall the covenant of my
peace be removed.
Now folks, I believe that God declared a covenant of peace with the whole world just the same
as he promised he would never flood this world again through the flood. He said after the cross
I’m going to make a covenant of peace and you’ll never see my anger again. Now you may see
angry preachers but you’ll never see an angry God. He has declared peace through the blood of
his son; through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:1 says Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ. I don’t have peace with God because I’ve done good enough. I don’t have
peace with God because I’ve kept the law. I have peace with God because of the blood of Jesus
Christ only! I make no other claims. I make no other claims. I can stand before you today and
tell you that I have broke enough laws this week that if I were under the old covenant, I would
have to be stoned or killed because of the laws of God.
You say, “What were they?” I aen’t going to tell you. (chuckle) Because then you’d have to
tell me yours. And Paul said to just stop speaking about all that stuff. I just choose to know no
man except by the Spirit. He says he doesn’t even want to know what someone has done in the
flesh anymore. I only want to know people through the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
Folks, you get up in this thing trying to figure out everything and what everybody has done and
why they have done it and the church is now obsessed with this doctrine of accountability and
they’re putting young people under it, ruining people’s lives saying that you’ve got to be
accountable to us and every time you do something wrong you’ve got to come and report to the
pastor. Young folks, don’t fall for that. Don’t fall for that. Find somebody you can trust and
talk to them if you need to. But you don’t have to go and confess your sins to your pastor. He’s
not the Pope and he’s not a priest and you have one mediator between you and God; and it’s the
man Christ Jesus.
He said my covenant of peace will never be removed. My covenant of peace will never be
removed saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. Never! If God said I won’t be angry with you
again and in that new covenant of cessation of hostility and wrath, and he says I’ve done this; it
is a sign of my mercy upon thee. We sing that song, His mercies are new every morning. Oh
his mercy is like the heavens. His mercy is like the dew. His mercy is abundant. Yet boy, I tell
you what. You get in a Christian community; his mercy doesn’t last very long. God said his
mercy endures forever but you get it inside a religion and I tell you. It’s going to end
somewhere along the line. We’ve got to draw the line somewhere.
This is the indication that God has had mercy on you. God’s mercy doesn’t show up because
you quit smoking. God’s mercy is not that you were able to quit doing drugs. God’s mercy
upon you is not that you able to stop sinning. God’s mercy upon you is that he’s not angry with
you even if you don’t stop. You say, “Boy! I knew this doctrine was dangerous. It just frees
people to do whatever they want.” You know! You may never know what you really want to
do until you’re free.
Most people do what they’re obsessed with; not what they want to do. And then we go to God
and lie. How many of you have gone to God and you felt like to be forgiven you had to say, “I
don’t know why I did that. I didn’t even want to do it in the first place.” Now you’ve got to ask
forgiveness for lying. You wouldn’t have done it if you didn’t want to but we feel so strongly
that we’ve got to be holy that we have to deny that we even wanted to do what we did when we
wanted to do it in the first place. But we’re so self righteous. We can’t even admit that we did
it because we wanted to.

shall devour the adversaries.
Well you know why…because we brought out that verse out of context that if we sin willfully,
there remains no more sacrifice so you can’t admit that you did it willfully. We can’t admit
that because there’s no more sacrifice for sin. Folks, that’s not talking about the blood of
Jesus Christ. That verse in Hebrews is talking about the blood of bulls and goats and once it’s
sacrificed, there remains no more sacrifice for sins but a certain fearful waiting for the fiery
judgment of God. That is not as a result of the blood of Jesus. It is a comparative chapter
about the blood of bulls and goats and about the blood of Jesus. Verses before it says that Jesus’
blood was shed once and for all. But if you’re trusting in the blood of a bull and goat and you
go that route, and you trust in the covering of your sins through a goat or a lamb and then you
sin willfully, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sin. But I can tell you that no matter what
you do under this covenant, your sacrifice for sin remains forever at the right hand throne of
God. That goat is dead and there remains no more sacrifice for sin but Jesus is alive. His
sacrifice is good forever; present and future. And religion takes that out of context to where it
makes liars out of us. “Oh I didn’t do that willfully. The devil made me do it.” We get the Flip
Wilson doctrine. Oh God. I just told you how old I am. Flip Wilson!
Isaiah 54:11 Oh thou afflicted and tossed with tempest and not comforted, behold I will lay
thy stones with fair colours and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
Oh thou afflicted and tossed with tempest and not comforted….what is he talking about? Is it
about your car breaking down; the stock market crashing; your bad marriage? What is he
talking about? Is it your wild kids? Folks! He’s been talking about the wrath and punishment
of God. Oh thou afflicted and tossed with tempest….those of you that have been afflicted and
tossed with tempest under the punishment and wrath of God in this first covenant and not
comforted, behold something is going to happen.
I will lay thy stones with fair colours and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
Isaiah 54:12 I will make thy windows of agates and thy gates of carbuncles and all thy
borders of pleasant stones. Folks! He’s talking about the church and its establishment through
the cross of Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of
thy children and great shall be the peace of thy children.
Now wait a minute! Great shall be the peace of thy children. How many of you have
children? Some of you raise your hands almost reluctantly. I know. I have three daughters and
there have been times they’ve been real peaceful. But there have been times they have not been
real peaceful and when they’ve not been real peaceful, I’ve not been real peaceful either. So did

God fail me with this verse where it says, Great shall be the peace of thy children. Did God
fail me because my daughter, who just turned 13 years old, had times when her heart was torn
and she didn’t know what to do and things were happening in school and there were things
going on in life? Had God failed me because she wasn’t at perfect peace in her heart? No!
This is not talking about great shall be the peace of thy children pertaining to circumstances.
It’s talking about great shall be the peace of thy children because they’ll know God is not
angry with them. Children are raised in Christian homes, not only believing in Jesus, but also
dreading the punishment, disfavor and wrath of God if they don’t do right. Knowing that God is
not angry with them which is the peace of God is a peace they should never lose.
Man! I tell you! I never will forget a situation with my oldest daughter. After I had been
teaching on this stuff for quite awhile and she came to me while she was going through a very
difficult time. She came to me to talk to me and I wanted to help her. I said, “Sara, I think this
may be happening to you because you did this and you did that and the Lord is….(now this has
been about ten years ago or more) I never will forget the feeling that swept over me. My God!
What am I doing to my daughter? This is manipulation and control. It is fear. It’s putting her
in fear of punishment. Even if it changes her behavior, it’s not going to change her heart.
Living in fear of punishment doesn’t change your heart. Knowing that you’re loved can change
the heart but impending doom does not change the heart. That can’t change the heart. You can
change the action to keep from being punished. That’s what God told Isaiah to tell the children
of Israel. He said in Isaiah chapter 1, “Why should I punish you any more? Why should I beat
you again?” He said, “I’ve done it time after time and you’ve gotten worse every time I beat
you.” Now folks! It wasn’t me that came up with the idea that being beaten and punished by
God for your sins doesn’t work. It was God who decided that beating and punishing people for
their sins didn’t work.
And then through the same prophet Isaiah, that was chapter 1, God showed the resolve. This
doesn’t work. I’ve beat Israel up. I’ve swallowed them up in earthquakes. I have done
everything that ought to make those people know they ought to live right. But it doesn’t work.
Every time that God poured out wrath or punishment on the nation of Israel, they became more
decadent every time. God said an individual being punished for his individual sin does not
change the individual.
He said, but if I reveal my love to them by coming to the earth myself; if I send my son, to
represent the entire world and I put him on a cross, I will make peace with them. I’ve already
given my law. It says this sin has to be punished but punishing the people through the law
doesn’t work.
I’ll reveal my love to them by taking all of their sin. I’m going to do away with that law. I’m
not only going to take all their sins but I’m going to take all the law of Moses and hang it on the
cross too. I’m going to do away with the law of Moses. I’m going to do away with sin. I’m
going to do away with the whole thing.

Folks! Christianity is basically an institution which revitalizes what Jesus hung on the cross
2,000 years ago. It revitalizes what Jesus hung on the cross.
Isaiah 54:14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression
for thou shalt not fear and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
Why will you have such peace? Why would there be peace and no dread of punishment from
God? Why would you not dread affliction, tossed with tempest and not comforted? He’s not
talking about just physical affliction, he’s talking about being afflicted by God. Why is all this
going to change?
V14 In righteousness shall thou be established. Why is all this going to change; in
righteousness shall thou be established. He didn’t say in the law you would be established.
What did he say? You’re going to be established in righteousness by obeying the law? No! It’s
because of the covenant of peace. You will be declared to be righteous. For he that knew no sin
was made to be sin that you might be made the righteousness of God in Christ. In righteousness
shalt thou be established.
He said, “Thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it
shall not come near thee. Boy! How many of you have ever claimed this verse about life? No
oppression in my life! How many of you have gotten fairly oppressed as Christians? How
many of you have had some terrifying things get fairly close? Well God lied or Christians
misunderstood. How many of you think it might be that Christians misunderstood. God did not
lie! Folks! We’ve got to keep this in context. We’re not talking about things just happening.
We’re talking about them happening at the hand of God; God’s anger; God’s punishment.
He said, “You’ll be established in righteousness and guess what? Once that happens, you’ll be
far from oppression. You’ll never be oppressed because of God’s anger again and from terror.
What terror? The entire Old Testament; the only terror talked about to this point is called the
terror of the Lord. Folks! Once you get established in righteousness, guess what? You’ll be far
from the terror of the Lord. Why? It’s because it will never even come near you. Why will it
never come near you? It all went on Jesus!
Isaiah 54:15 Behold, they shall surely gather together but not by me: whosoever shall gather
together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
See, God never said, even in this context that in this life there would never be oppressive things
in your life. He said, it won’t be me doing it ever again.
“Oh surely they will gather together against you but not by me,” saith the Lord. Whosoever
shall gather together against thee shall fall for they sake.
And when you see this in context, you will see we are in a gospel revolution folks. Who are
they and what is it that is gathering together against you? He is saying these are people who
have been declared to be righteous and now that God has declared you to be righteous, you

know that God is not angry with you but there will be oppressors. They will come against you.
And I will guarantee you, if you ever go around preaching this gospel of peace and letting the
religious community know that God is not angry, they will come against you. Because what
you are preaching will unravel and dismantle their entire organization because it thrives on
making people fearful and then they absolve that fear by following the religious community’s
rules and regulations.
Folks! I’m not absolved from fear between me and God and dread of terror and punishment. I
am absolved from it because of the blood of Christ; not because I follow some man’s rules and
regulations or even God’s rules and regulations.
Isaiah 54:16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that
bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
Man I tell you. We go through all of this and say well you see the Bible says God created Satan
for this. There’s no mention of Satan here folks! That’s a total assumption at least.
V 16 Behold I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire and that bringeth forth
an instrument for his work. I think that looks an awful lot like the law that was given to drive
us to Christ; an instrument that would provoke us to knowing that our only salvation was in
Jesus Christ.
V 16 I have created the waster to destroy.
V 17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise
against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
Now, how many of you have gone to any type of church that said sickness, disease, poverty and
bad news are weapons formed against you and God promised you it would not prosper? How
many of you have had these things to prosper against you? Did God lie or did Christians
misunderstand?
What weapon? Who formed this weapon? God says I have created it. But then after he says I
have created it, what did he say? No weapon formed against you, and he’s talking about the
change from the old covenant to the new covenant, he says no weapon formed against you shall
prosper. No weapon formed how? No weapon formed against you.
What does Colossians 2: 14 say about the law? The law was against you; the very same
terminology. For the law was against us. It was contrary to us so God did what? He took that
which was against us and contrary to us and Colossians said he did what? He took it out of the
way. So the law was where? It was in the way. It was what? It was against us. It was contrary
to us. It’s what built hostility between Jew and Gentile and also according to Colossians and
Ephesians what caused hostility to be there between God and man. But Jesus took that which
was creating hostility and he nailed it to his tree.

This is good news. This is gooder news than I knew was good news. (chuckle)
No weapon formed against thee shall prosper. Mike, are you sure that this is talking about the
law? Well lets read on and see if it’s a possibility. We do know that Paul said that the law was
against us. Right? The prophecy about the new covenant then says no law that was formed
against you shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment, thou shalt
condemn. Now, what do you have to have to have a judgment? You got to have a law and now
that the law that weapon that was formed against you, it cannot prosper any more and now every
tongue that rises against you in judgment, thou shalt condemn. Did it say to condemn the
person? No! It said condemn the preaching that was going out.
And folks, I very gladly stand before you and tell you, I condemn the prophecies of judgment;
impending judgment of the year 2000 coming from VanEmpe; coming from Pat Robertson;
coming from the list that goes on and on. I condemn their prophecies of the judgment of God
being in the year 2000 Y2K problem. Isn’t it amazing? Isn’t it amazing that God was wanting
to judge us through Y2K problem but scientist are figuring out how to keep God from doing it?
(chuckle) Wow! Aren’t you glad we’ve got computer scientists? They’ve outsmarted God.
Wow! Please remember these guys prophesied that this would be God’s judgment upon
America. There would be no social security checks. There wouldn’t be this. The Pentagon
wasn’t ready. Our nuclear arsenal wasn’t ready and since then they’ve found out all of these
things have been taken care of. Oh not everything has been taken care of but folks, we’ve got a
little bit of time left.
All this Y2K thing has been, is religion’s relentless addiction to try and manipulate and control
society with fear. The news media has picked right up on it. Third world governments and
local governments have picked up on it; Boris Yeltsen picked up on it real quick. He got up in
January and announced, Russia is not Y2K compliant and you know, we’re in charge of all the
nuclear weapon here don’t you? However, with three billion dollars, we can get ready. Do you
think he was asking his government to put out the three billion dollars to get ready? No! He
was asking it from us. I was sitting there; I got so infuriated. I said, “You know, this is
amazing. Pat Robertson and these guys have preached doctrines that caused Boris Yeltsen to be
able to extort three billion dollars out of the Americans.” And like an idiot, I was arguing with
the TV. Have you ever argued with the TV? I’m so glad you have I felt so stupid. I was sitting
there talking to Boris. Here the man is saying, they are not Y2K compliant and they don’t know
what’s going to happen and boy when this rolls around and these computers and oh man and the
nuclear arsenals. And I started screaming at the TV. Boris! Cut the wire! It doesn’t cost three
billion dollars to cut the wire.
I don’t know what you guys are doing in Canada but our local governments are yelling that
we’re not ready. We’re not ready. We’re not ready. Washington, we need about 50 million
dollars to get this done. None of our toilets are going to flush. I didn’t know toilets ran by
computers. Now folks, there’s been a real problem but it has nothing to do with the judgment of
God on this earth or America or Canada. I don’t know why we don’t talk about God judging
you guys. It’s always America. I guess we’re the bad guys. Course, you guys understand why
it’s America though, don’t you. (chuckle)

Now if they can prophesy, I can prophesy. I prophesy that the year 2000, January 1 will roll
around. Isn’t that amazing? Aren’t you just really shocked with this prophecy? January, the
year 2000, will roll around. And about the only major problem that’s going to happen is that
people are going to have too much toilet paper. Everybody’s stocking up on seaweed. You
gotta make sure you got enough to make it through several months with no electricity and
nothing working. And since none of this is going to work anyway, send your money in to P.O.
Box A Santa Anna, CA so that we can spread the gospel; since your money’s not going to be
any good anyway. What good is it going to do you if it’s not going to do me any good?
(chuckle)
You’ll see January 1, January 2, January 3 and the only problem you’re really going to see is not
from the problem of Y2K but the fear generated by the Christian community of Y2K. Folks, if
we buy toilet paper in November and December, enough to last us through April of the next
year, our stock market is going to have a rough time because we function on projected gross
national product. And if we buy it all up in November and December, and then everybody has
stockpiled toilet paper, then the stock market is going to have a very rough time because it’s
going to show “no sales”. This will be created not by the judgment of God, not the problem of
Y2K, but created by Pat Robertson, CBN, TBN, Jack Van Empe and all the rest of the Empe’s.
And I tell you what, to take advantage of people’s fears like that, there is absolutely nothing
lower; to take someone’s love for God and twist it and turn it and to make it into something that
could suck money out of them and manipulate them and control them is nothing less than tragic.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; I believe he’s talking about the law.
And every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. Why can you
condemn every judgment? Can you condemn every judgment? Yes! Why? Because the law
can’t be used as a weapon against you any more, therefore you can condemn every prophesy of
judgment. Paul reiterated this in the book of Romans chapter 3. He said, therefore let no man
judge you. Or in chapter 3, he said, who art thou o man to judge another? In Colossians, he
said, therefore let no man judge you in meat, or drink or Sabbath or any laws. Don’t let
anybody judge you. Why? Because this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their
righteousness if of me saith the God.
Folks, you’ve got your righteousness as a gift of God. You’re not subject to those old ways
anymore; the guilt the fear, the manipulation and the control. You’re free. Now they are
terrified of you being free. The sad thing about it is, we get people in our group, in our meetings
and they have preached such terror of freedom, which has taken away your freedom in Christ.
We have people stand up in the congregation mad because we’re giving them freedom. Why?
Because it’s taking away security in their acceptance in the group they are in. But folks, I
would rather destroy your security of the acceptance of the group you’re in and cause you to
know the freedom and acceptance there is in Christ. Please don’t ever trade the feeling of
security for acceptance of a group for the freedom that you have that there is in Christ. Being in
a group is wonderful but if they are providing a security that takes away freedom, it’s not. It’s
no difference than Communism. Communism promises security but it took away all freedom.
And American Christianity is doing the same thing. Come here. Join this. Do this. Do this
with us. We promise you that you’ll feel secure; you’ll feel so loved and so accepted. And man

we’ll tell you you’re going to be this and man you’re going to be a big dude here. If you just
keep with the program, you’re going to go up the ladder and you’ll be accepted and you’ll be
reverenced; and people will respect you and everyone will cause you to feel good about yourself
and we’ll tell you how wonderful you are. But if you don’t, folks, that’s where the problem
enters. There’s nothing wrong with affirming someone. But if affirming them with the threat of
taking away their acceptance if they don’t follow suit, is manipulation, control and it is
emotional terrorism.
And you can feel it when you’re in it. You can feel the emotional terrorism. Everything in your
heart screams out this is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong, this is wrong, this is
wrong, this is wrong. But just like a captive to terrorism, you have to do what you’re told
because the consequences are just too great.
Jesus did not die to give you eternal security. They even brought up that debate. Oh do you
believe in eternal security? Well, I don’t even find the statement in the Bible. How can I argue
in defense of eternal security? How about eternal redemption? Let’s get on that one because
the Bible says you have eternal redemption. Why do they want to bring up eternal security?
Because it brings in confusion because there is no such statement in the Bible. You can argue
forever about something that there’s nothing written about. But eternal redemption, lets see
them argue with that. The Bible says he has given you eternal redemption. Let’s try eternal
liberty; lets take that one on. Let’s argue about eternal liberty and eternal freedom. The church
community creates terms that aren’t even Biblical to try and enforce what they call Biblical
when it’s not even in the Bible at all.
Folks I know that I’m speaking very strongly about some things. One thing you can’t do is go
from here unsure about what we’re saying. You know! I’m not real sure…was Mike saying
that Christianity is kind of the bad guy? Yes! Modern day Christianity has become the bad guy
in a cloak of self righteousness, it says it has the answers for the world.
Using statistics to validate the need for their doctrines, they point to the day when prayer and the
ten commandments were taken out of the schools. And then they show charts…look how much
murder has gone up, rape has gone up, child abuse has gone up; all this has gone up. You can
prove anything with statistics. It all depends what you want to prove.
I can show you the day that TBN went on the air and from that moment on, murder increased in
America. I can show you from the moment TBN went on the air, there has been more murder,
more rape, more killings, more hostility between the races; CBN, the Christian Broadcasting
Network; boy now it’s on tape, I don’t have any excuses now. Now folks, please realize, I’m
not saying that there are not some people there that have wonderful intentions. I was involved
in that. My intentions were right. But Paul said, we’ve got to judge these doctrines. I’m not
judging the people but the doctrines have to be pointed out. Paul looked at the Apostle Peter
and said, “You are to be blamed for accepting the doctrine of circumcision along with salvation
as a part of what it requires to be saved.”

You say, oh you shouldn’t get up and name names. No, I think I ought to get up and name
names. I think it leaves people too confused if I don’t. People wonder, well was he saying this;
was he saying that. Well I may be wrong but you won’t go away wondering whether or not I
said what I said because I said it.
Amen? There’s a lot of people that are staying in churches and there are some congregations
that actually preach some gospel. Now I even turn on Christian television occasionally. Once
in awhile, I hear a line or two there but what is followed up with is absolutely hideous. I don’t
know what it is about the gospel but it has a tendency to destroy modern day Christianity. I
don’t know what it is but I know that when it goes in, things start happening. But I believe
we’re in a gospel revolution and I don’t believe it is a bad thing. It’s a good thing because the
time for the control and manipulation of other people’s lives by other men has got to end.
Amen?
